Phil Dimartino
Instructor
A 15-year veteran of a large urban police department, Sgt. DiMartino has spent his career in the heart of the city. His favorite mantra from former Kansas City Chief’s player, John Welbourn, is a perfect encapsulation of how he goes about the majority of his life. “Some days you have a shovel, some days you have a spoon. The point is you’re always moving the dirt.” He spent seven years as a motivated and dedicated Field Training Officer, and has now spent another four years and counting as a Field Training Officer sergeant. DiMartino understands the needs of new employees and trainers alike.
As a former football coach, current business owner, and a father, he understands the importance of possessing a broad ranging skill set for resiliency. DiMartino is a skillful lecturer (who has clearly watched one too many pro wrestling pay per views as a kid), providing for a captivating instructional style dotted with real-world personal examples of resiliency in action. He is also second-generation law enforcement and vividly remembers being raised by cops, which adds to his collection of entertaining stories for sure.
